To the HKS Community,
I am thrilled to announce that Maia Sandu, the President of Moldova and an alumna of the Kennedy School, will give this year’s graduation address at Harvard Kennedy School.
President Sandu earned her Mid-career Master in Public Administration degree at the Kennedy School in 2010. A few years after graduating, she returned home to Moldova, a former Soviet republic located between Ukraine and Romania. In Moldova, she led a decade-long anti-corruption campaign that included forming a political party and serving as prime minister and that culminated in her becoming president in December 2020.
President Sandu has set an impressive example of principled and effective public leadership and public service. I am so pleased that she accepted our invitation earlier this year to give our graduation address, and I look forward to her being able to come back to campus.
You can read more in our official announcement.
Best wishes,
Doug
