Colin Jones graduated in 2014 from HKS’s master’s in public policy program. Today, he is a senior policy analyst at the Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center, a nonprofit organization that provides independent research and analysis on policy and the state budget, with a particular emphasis on how decisions affect low- and middle- income individuals. “We work a lot with community-based coalitions to make positive change in the education system. I also help to promote understanding of an opaque system.”
Colin says his Kennedy School education continues to influence him. “Linda Bilmes’s course on budgeting really helps me work with legislators to give them the information they need on how to improve the system for financing public education.”
Colin was able to attend Harvard Kennedy School only because generous alumni contributed to the HKS Fund, which provided the financial aid Colin needed. Now, he is giving back through his work to help make an exceptional education available for all.
