Pippa Norris receives APSA’s 2019 Charles Merriam Award

Pippa Norris is the recipient of the American Political Science Association’s 2019 Charles E. Merriam Award. The prize is awarded biennially to recognize a person “whose published work and career represent a significant contribution to the art of government through the application of social science research.”

GSAS Awards Centennial Medal to Joseph Nye

At a ceremony on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, Harvard University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) awarded the Centennial Medal to Joseph Nye, PhD ’64. Nye, University Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus at Harvard University, is a world-renowned authority on foreign policy and power.

Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Juan Manuel Santos to deliver HKS graduation address

Juan Manuel Santos, former president of the Republic of Colombia and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, will deliver the graduation address to the Harvard Kennedy School Class of 2019.

Japanese Government honors HKS Professors Ash Carter and John Holdren

The Japanese government is honoring two Kennedy School faculty members. Ash Carter is being decorated with the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun. John Holdren is being decorated with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star.
