Criminal Justice Lunchtime Talk Series: The Boston Reentry Study

What happens to prisoners once they are released? The Criminal Justice PIC and the Program in Criminal Justice Policy and Management are launching a series of lunchtime talks this semester to discuss current issues like this one. Our first event, this Wednesday, will examine this question through the research of the Boston Reentry Study (BRS), a longitudinal survey of 123 Massachusetts state prisoners newly-released to the Boston area. The study offers a unique window into the lives of formerly incarcerated men and women in Massachusetts, and aims to provide a detailed picture of the process of social integration after prison. For more information, see a story on the project done by Harvard Magazine (http://harvardmagazine.com/2013/03/the-prison-problem). Join us to discuss the study with Professor Bruce Western and the research team conducting the project. Lunch will be served.
