Growing the Economy from the Middle Out Guest: Tom Vilsack, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture As the economy continues to recover it’s essential that the benefits are seen not just on the coasts or big cities, but in every corner of the country. Mills and Secretary Vilsack will join his former cabinet colleague for an armchair discussion on the role of entrepreneurship in America’s rural economy and how America’s rural small businesses are exporting their products around the globe to keep the U.S. competitive. Secretary Vilsack, the former Governor of Iowa and IOP alumnus, will also examine the ways he is working to make government – at both federal and state levels - more efficient and accessible for all Americans.
