Clear writing starts with clear thinking. It's that simple. And so the writing process for any writing project begins at the beginning, with the first spark of an idea. This workshop will look at ways of focusing any writing effort early and connecting a project's frame and its research to the final written and polished product. Jerry Lanson is an Associate Professor of Journalism at Emerson College, where he serves as the first chair of its Journalism Department. He's a former acting and deputy city editor at the San Jose Mercury News in California and he has coached writers and editors at a dozen newspapers and two universities.
