American Conversation Essentials: Mary Jo Bane on U.S. Social Policy

April 30, 2012

Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) and the 92nd Street Y (92Y) in New York City present American Conversation Essentials, a series of short powerful videos featuring HKS faculty members -- designed to deconstruct critical policy issues impacting the voters and the country this election year.

This video features Mary Jo Bane, Thornton Bradshaw Professor of Public Policy and Management, dissecting the many critical dimensions of U.S. social policy following the "Great Recession."

American Conversation Essentials is a series of compelling videos that puts today’s most important issues – the Middle East, the economy, health care and more – into perspective. HKS faculty members share their expertise and offer insights to provide Americans with the tools to better understand the world around them, become more engaged citizens and ultimately build a better society. American Conversation Essentials is a component of 92Y’s Campaign for the American Conversation.

Look for new videos on a range of policy topics each week moving into the summer.
