New Republic Editor to Speak on Media and Liberalism at Kennedy School Forum

Cambridge, MA — Peter Beinart, editor of the New Republic, will deliver the 2005 Theodore H. White Lecture on Press and Politics on Oct. 27 at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. “New Media, Old Media, and the Future of Liberalism” will begin at 6 p.m. at the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum, 79 JFK Street, Cambridge.
Beinart has been the editor of the New Republic since 1999 and also writes a regular column for the Washington Post.
The Theodore H. White Lectureship on Press and Politics commemorates the life of the late reporter and historian who set the standard for contemporary political journalism and campaign coverage.
The event is co-sponsored by the Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics, and Public Policy. It is open to the public and the press.
