Abstract
The Environmental Protection Agency recently proposed repeal of the 2024 greenhouse gas emissions standards for fossil fuel electric-generating units. This regulation establishes performance standards projected to reduce US power sector emissions of carbon dioxide by approximately 1.4 billion tons over the next two decades. In addition, this rule would reduce emission of fine particulate matter as well as pollutant that contribute to higher ground-level ozone.
