Abstract
The AEA’s Committee on Economic Statistics (AEAStat) promotes AEA member access to current, detailed, useful economic data and statistics provided by the federal government and other sources. To this end, AEAStat undertakes formal and informal educational activities, mostly in Washington, DC, that aim to support continued supply of high-quality statistics and data on US households and businesses, as well as key measures of economic activity like employment, unemployment, inflation, output, productivity, and trade. AEAStat focuses on datasets and statistical agencies relevant to the scientific interests of AEA members, without taking positions on partisan matters.
