Abstract
Local government is not broken, just burdened. The obsolete rules and regulations discussed here make the conceptualization of alternatives difficult, creating tunnel vision for what is possible and a decrease of overall trust in governments. This article argues for the creation of new standards that respond to these conditions, specifically through “Regulation 2.0,” an accountability model based on adept use of data.
