Successful Regional Economy Shares a Single Vision

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to spend a terrific day seeing the very best of Shelby County as I first engaged with Leadership Memphis, then with talented elected officials and finally with the Metropolitan Government Charter Commission. This alignment of talent and opportunity can produce a historically significant platform for progress. This platform will not, however, result from simply shifting from two governments to one, but rather from the opportunity to redraw the structures that will ensure governmental effectiveness, integrity and economic success going forward.
