Libraries & Democracy

The Libraries & Democracy Initiative is built on the recognition that libraries are critical to a thriving democracy. In an information-driven society grappling with questions of trust, inequity, and polarization, libraries offer the tools for exploration and connection.

Hacking is more than just a term for rogue programmers breaking into computer systems. Bruce Schneier’s latest book explores the ways society is manipulated by those exploiting loopholes.

Behind the Book is a video storytelling series that dives into books authored by HKS faculty.

The Political Buttons at HKS Collection features nearly 3,000 buttons representing US political history from 1904 through today. It includes buttons from candidates, ballot initiatives, social issues, grassroots movements, and more.

HKS faculty share their research in publications that contribute to public knowledge and fuel policy innovation. Faculty publications include working papers, journal articles, books, edited volumes, research papers, and public testimony.
