This course analyzes a series of historical case studies regarding presidents and the foreign policy decisions they have made. Students are required to complete an average of 150-200 pages of readings a week; study questions will be provided to help guide their reading. The seminar will be taught by Socratic cold calling and based on the assumption that the reading is done before class. Participation is restricted to 36 students. Each student will be required to write two take home exams and participate in a group exercise.
