This course teaches the relevant writing and analysis skills for long form policy reports and papers, often published by government and international organizations. With a focus on structure, format, visual elements, style, and writing norms, students will learn what makes a policy report persuasive and impactful. We will deconstruct examples of superior and poor long form policy analysis papers to build this skill. Students working on PAEs in the MPP program, with or without a partner, are encouraged to take this course, as it complements and supports the work they are doing. Students will have the opportunity to present their work and gain valuable feedback on both writing and strategies to enhance their deliverables for a client.
Every Communications Program course assumes a fluency with the English language. Attendance at first class required.
